“I am sure that most of you readers are aware that due to a generous donation by the former owner, the historic Knight Foundry was gifted to the City of Sutter Creek. A fundraising effort is now underway to raise $325,000 to purchase the contents of the foundry, which includes machinery, patterns, tools, and other appurtenances. Although, a substantial amount has already been raised, the goal is still well off. It is imperative that the funds are raised to meet the mission of the Knight Foundry Alliance – “to protect, preserve, and restore the Knight Foundry’s historic structures, features and operations, in order to convey its local and regional importance as a unique 19th century industrial facility.”
